Standing somewhere in the upper five foot range T'Rae is by no means short for a Vulcan woman. Her body is tall and lithe with most of her height in her legs, but is hardened by her military training. Her face is sharp, with high cheekbones and hard onyx eyes, softened somewhat by the gentle curve of her upswept eyebrows. She is an analytical woman, her eyes constantly taking in the details around her, especially of the people in the area.
A generally unassuming woman the most striking feature of her is her hair. A failed experiment left it changing a myriad of colors, patterns, and various degrees of luminescent. On occasion it will turn back to her natural black, but it rarely stays this way for long. Other than it's wildly varying coloration her hair falls just past her shoulders and is often tucked behind her ears, though lately she has started pulling it back into a pony-tail more often.
Since landing on Planet T'Rae has begun varying her wardrobe. Often she still wears her starfleet uniform, but also has a more traditional set of Vulcan robes, a (very) small number of dresses, and a variety of pant-suits for more formal occasions.
A stubborn woman, T'Rae is confident and strong-willed, with a tendency to be more than a little bossy at times. This has gotten her reprimanded more often than not, but also why she was chosen as Chief Science Officer aboard the USS Synapta when the previous officer died in the line of duty. A military woman T'Rae keeps calm and in control in a crisis, relying on the teachings of Surak to work through a situation. A child of the V'tosh ka'tur she works for balance to keep herself in control.
And truly it is only thirty plus years of these teachings that keep her in control. For beneath her collected exterior boils the blood of her ancestors. In the time before Surak the Vulcan bloodlust very nearly drove the entire race to extinction. It is only the dawn of the logical age that allowed them to survive. T'Rae struggles greatly against this bloodlust, quite possibly more than most of her species. So though she often works to keep herself in check, there are times when her emotions overpower her. This has occurred significantly more often since she asked Geoffrey to perform brain surgery to prevent her from going mad, and in the process accidentally forming the Kha'ka, a Vulcan engagement, between them.
Born to T'Mena and Syramok in a small V'tosh ka'tur settlement several miles from the Vulcan capital of Shi'Kahr, T'Rae was an only child. T'Rae was diligent and focus in school, obviously devoted to the sciences from an early age she dove into the studies of people and animals. When she was nearly killed by her angry, hungry Sehlat she was introduced to a couple of Starfleet officers while recovering in the hospital. At this point she opted to enlist in Starfleet, much to her parents chagrin. After a falling out with her parents she packed up and boarded the off-world transport.
T'Rae flourished in the Academy, quickly bonding with T'Lara, another Vulcan there, who had completely abandoned the teachings of Surak. For the first two years of her education she had little to do, having already graduated from Vulcan schooling she knew most of what was being taught. Instead she spent a great deal of time in the library studying ancient literature, and buying any she could pick up at used bookstores. Along with T'Lara she often hung out with the andorian Johnny, the human Stevens, and most notably the Romulan Charhael, who she began a relationship with. When she graduated from the Academy with degrees in Biology and Sociology she, along with most of The Group (tm), was assigned to the USS Synapta, an exploratory and first contact vessel. It was one of the proudest moments of her life.
Two years later Charhael died. T'Rae would never get over it. Though she wasn't there when he died in an ambush by Klingons, Stevens shared with the rest of the ship Charhael's last words, "Get your ass back out there." At this point several things changed. T'Rae fell deeper into her logic, Stevens went back to the Academy to take medical courses, and the relationship between Mickey and Johnny became official. Two years later Stevens was reassigned to the Synapta as chief medical officer and T'Rae was assigned Chief Science officer when the previous one died in the line of duty.
Stevens and T'Lara were wed a year later, and T'Lara gave birth to Charles Kyle Stevens, logically T'Rae was the godmother, and Johnny was made the godfather. T'Rae had grown closer to Johnny in this time, the point he could even get away with calling her RaeRae.
Six years later T'Rae found herself in a shuttlecraft orbiting an uncharted planet, the Synapta was called away by a distress call from an andorian science station, and T'Rae was left to record information and observe if the planet was inhabited, and if so if it was pre- or post-warp. It was twenty four hours later the right thruster of her shuttlecraft turned into a fish taco. Stranded on Planet, T'Rae found herself in Whazzit Weyrd. Despite her logical conclusion that the Captain would be back for her T'Rae Bonded to several of the local wildlife and made herself at home in a treehouse. She had been on Planet for several months when she bonded to the emerald dragon Ruvaiath, and this was the final nail in the decision that she would be staying in the Weyrd, whether it means leaving Starfleet or not.
She had been on Planet nearly a whole year when a need for emergency brain surgery to adjust her evolving midbrain drove her to Geoffrey Rand's doorstep, and all the ensuing consequences.
Geoffrey - He's one of the most intelligent people she knows even if he's capable of being incredibly frustrating. She's also engaged to him, though it's somewhat contestable, so there's that.
Saiph - A kinsman and easily her best friend on Planet, he's a good dose of familiar Starfleet insanity in the middle of the less typical Whazzit insanity. And he can cook.
Grimm - He's a good man and the fact that Saiph likes him is enough for her. She would like to get to know him personally though.
Meliai - Geoffrey's protective of her, that's all she needs to know. She would, however, like to speak with her on a more personal level.
Estrella - The pirate is significantly more amusing than T'Rae would have anticipated, she wouldn't say she trusts the woman but she'd rather have her around than some others.
Alan - The guy's a total doormat as far as she can tell, but he can handle himself pretty well so she'd rather stay on his good side, just in case she needs backup.
Teeka - She doesn't know much about her but she respects her general amiable attitude and her ability to defend herself.
Tracyn - Tracyn is a respectable woman, and a familiar dose of intergalactic communication in T'Rae's early days on Planets. If not a friend, at least a pleasant acquaintance.
Gatsby - To say she loathes him is barely to touch the surface. She detests him on a personal level, and the fact that he stands between her and a proper relationship with Geoffrey doesn't help.
Da'chetre - She has a general respect for him as a warrior, and would, for the most part, trust him in battle. After the events of a particularly nasty serapheline bonding however she no longer has any respect for him and does not believe him to be an honorable warrior in the slightest.
Umber - Meddlesome, irritating, can't keep her nose to herself and out of other people's affairs. Witchcraft does not count as science.
Anastashia - Disrespectful, whorish, untrustworthy, absolutely no sense of personal boundaries or space, T'Rae can't stand her.
Khryssie - She has no respect for personal space and is somewhat invasive. Mostly harmless on a good day, mildly irritating on a bad one.
T'Rae is currently 39, she was born the 16th of Et'khior 8992 in Vulcan, approximately July 3rd 2266 on Earth.
She is a Cancer in Western Astrology, a Horse in the chinese zodiac, a Woodpecker by Native American Astrology, and an Oak in Celtic astrology.
Due to her hyper-evolving midbrain T'Rae can feel the telepathic Bonds of those around her if she listens close enough. Similar to synesthesia she feels like a song between the person and their Bond. Each person has a unique song, and each species has a unique tune.
She is accidently engaged to Geoffrey Rand A-13.
Her father Syramok is a doctor. Her mother T'Mena is a politician. Her grandfather owned a farm and raised jarel(similar to horses).
Uses Opium-scented soap.
After a [Kosaire] bonding she has picked up a very mild ability to control earth.
